Meet Lawrence Hovey, DMD, MS

Dr. Hovey is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Harvard  with magna cum laude honors in 1999 after receiving his Bachelors in Biology from Colgate University. Dr. Hovey then received his certificate in Periodontics and a Masters of Science degree from the University Of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2002. During this time, he also obtained advanced training in Implant Dentistry and IV conscious sedation. 

Dr. Hovey leads the Portland Study Club, a group comprised of dental specialists and restorative dentists focused on treatment planning utilizing interdisciplinary care.  He is also specialty member of the Sunset Study Club and maintains many memberships in the professional organizations listed below. 

Dr. Hovey has been happily married for 18 years. He and his wife, Kirsten, have four children, Anna, Ben, Sadie and Samantha. When he has free time, Dr. Hovey enjoys mountain biking, hiking, fishing and skiing
